While I was unable to attend the actual event, as promised last week, here are some pictures of the Code Pink knittivism project that culminated in their annual 24-hour vigil outside the White House and this year for the first time, this knitted banner that says, "We will not raise our children to kill another mother’s child."
Women from all over the world (including yours truly!) knitted 4" x 4" squares in various shades of pink, green for the lettering, to form the banner. The banner was pinned together at CodePink headquarters in Washington D.C. the week prior to Mother's Day, and then the banner was quilted together in the park across from the White House.
